Why QMT Classes About Schedule your sessions

Firearms training — Dallas / Fort Worth

What you’re capable
of might surprise you.

Low pressure. Real skills. Small groups. No experience necessary.

Why it’s different here

Small groups.
No judgment.
Lots of celebrating.

“She showed up nervous but halfway through and beaming she wanted a video to share with her family.”

This isn’t a course where you’re expected to keep up or keep quiet. Quiet Man Tactical was built for people who are brand new — or who tried somewhere else and it didn’t feel right. The pace is yours. And when you do something well — and you will — we’re going to make sure you know it.

No experience required

We start from scratch. If you’ve never held a firearm, that’s exactly where we start.

Small groups by design

Kept small on purpose. Better training, better experience — you get real attention.

Serious training, without the ego

Rigorous instruction, real skills — without the culture that makes people feel they don’t belong.

Finish wherever you want

No pressure to go further than you want. No ceiling if you do.

Student at the range

A word from Chase

This is simpler than you think.

A lot of people have been putting this off for years. They come in expecting it to be overwhelming. It isn’t. You’ll be surprised how fast it clicks — and how much fun you’ll have and how confident you’ll feel when it does.

Student shooting outdoors at sunset

Serious about learning.
Having a great time doing it.

That’s what training at QMT looks like.

What people are saying

The results speak
for themselves.

Student at outdoor range

I hadn’t touched a gun in years — not since an instructor made me feel like I was stupid for getting overwhelmed. Chase has never been like that. I always feel like I can actually do this.

Student — Pistol 1

Student focused at the range

I came in not knowing what to expect and very nervous. But everything was very controlled. I felt safe and it was way more comfortable than I imagined it could be.

Student — Pistol 1

Student with target

I came in terrified. I left wanting to come back every week. I didn’t know this could be fun AND make me feel more safe.

Students having a great time at the range

Come as a beginner.
Leave as someone who knows what they’re doing.

Training programs

Start wherever you are.

No pressure to go further than you want. Some finish Pistol 1 and shoot recreationally every week. Others go all the way through to their license to carry. Either way, you leave with real, lasting skills.

Program 01

Pistol 1

3 sessions · Beginner · The Colony + Waxahachie

Before your first session, Chase sends you a safety video so you’re not walking in cold. Session one covers the four universal firearm safety rules, how your firearm actually works, grip, stance, loading and unloading, and your first rounds downrange. By the end you’ll have fired ~50 rounds and safety will already be becoming second nature. It’s also, reliably, a lot of fun.

Session two picks up where one left off — trigger control, breathing, distance, and pace. You’ll learn to handle malfunctions, understand ammunition differences, and finish the session shooting balloons at distance. Yes, really.

Session three brings it all together — moving and shooting, timed drills, and a flowing course of fire that puts everything you’ve built to the test.

By the end of Pistol 1 you’ll be a safe, competent, and surprisingly proficient shooter at 10–15 yards.

Program 02

Pistol 2

3 sessions · Intermediate · Waxahachie

Pistol 2 branches based on what you want out of it.

If you’re self-defense minded, we get serious — holster work, drawing and shooting, retention shooting, moving while shooting, and the situational awareness principles that make it all actually useful. You’ll draw from a holster a lot. You’ll move and shoot a lot.

If you’re not focused on self-defense, we keep building — longer distances, tighter targets, more challenging drills, more fun.

Either way, you leave Pistol 2 a meaningfully better shooter than when you started.

Program 03

Pistol 3

3 sessions · Advanced · Waxahachie

This is where everything gets faster and the stakes get higher — on purpose.

Pistol 3 is built around stress. Drawing under pressure, moving fast with a firearm, using cover, working through real scenarios. You’ll shoot from positions you haven’t shot from before, learn to move and clear a corner, and train your body to stay accurate when your heart rate is up.

Students walk away from Pistol 3 knowing how to perform under pressure — not just at the range on a calm Tuesday morning.

By Invitation

Range Society

Monthly · DFW

Range Society is what happens after you’ve put in the work. Invitation is extended to students who’ve completed at least Pistol 2 — not because we’re gatekeeping, but because everyone in the room should be able to focus on getting better, not on getting started.

A small group coming together once or twice a month to shoot, compete, and hang out. Structured drills, some friendly competition, and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from doing something difficult and fun with others who are doing it too. It’s a social event but with real training attached. These are slightly bigger classes and safety is non-negotiable.

Women Only · By Invitation

Women’s Range Society

Monthly · DFW

Women’s Range Society is the same idea with its own energy. A small group of women coming back to shoot, improve, have fun, and cheer each other on.

Sessions mix structured skill work with the kind of group dynamic that makes this genuinely enjoyable. You’ll push your skills, learn alongside people you already trust, have a lot of fun, and leave every session better than you arrived.

* All prices listed are per person for groups of two to three students. Private one-on-one instruction is available — contact Chase directly for private session pricing.

Chase McTaggart — Quiet Man Tactical

About

Why Quiet Man Tactical exists.

I hate seeing people get hurt when they don’t have to be. That’s the simplest way I can put it.

I keep encountering people who are afraid of the firearm sitting in their own home. People who tried to get trained and walked away feeling worse than when they started — sometimes because an instructor made them feel small for struggling. One woman told me she got overwhelmed during a class, teared up a little, and the instructor said “why are you crying?” She didn’t touch a firearm again for years. Not until she found her way here.

That’s not training. That’s the opposite of training.

I also believe deeply in celebrating people. There is something that happens when a person does something they were genuinely terrified to do — and they do it well. I’ve watched people jump up and down at the range. I’ve watched complete beginners walk off looking entirely different than the person who walked on. That’s why I’m here.
